CarrySafe Terms of Use
Last updated August 26, 2026 · Hoydia LLC, New Jersey
These Terms of Use govern the CarrySafe app and related services provided by Hoydia LLC. By creating a CarrySafe account, starting a trial, making a purchase, or using the service, you agree to these Terms and the applicable Apple terms described below.
1. What CarrySafe provides
CarrySafe organizes geography, mapped place records, reviewed carry-law summaries, permit-recognition material, official-source links, news, community features, business listings, and optional alerts. A reviewed legal answer includes its source and review status. Loaded geography or a mapped place can exist before every legal question there has been reviewed. Incomplete material remains labeled Not reviewed. Paying opens product scope and app features. It does not create a legal answer that has not been reviewed.
2. Maps, alerts, route planning, and the permit card
The digital permit card is a personal reference, not a legal permit or government credential. It has no legal effect and must not be presented as proof of licensure. Carry the physical permit your jurisdiction requires. Distances, map points, building footprints, circular regions, and warning radii are approximations for orientation and operations, not survey data or legal property boundaries.
Alerts are best-effort conveniences that depend on account and plan access, Carry Mode, app state, device permissions, GPS, network, Focus, Background App Refresh, and iOS resource decisions. Foreground state-boundary and nearby monitoring requires CarrySafe to be open. A supported iOS build may separately offer background region warnings for a small rotating set of eligible mapped records, including reviewed warnings and separately labeled mapped-place advisories whose legal status is not reviewed. Delivery can be late, suppressed, missing, or wrong. Do not rely on an alert, or the absence of an alert, to stay compliant.
CarrySafePro route planning remains available. Routes organize reviewed source information along a planned path. They do not make a legal finding or say a route is lawful, and they can omit or misstate information. Do not interact with the app while driving unless it is safe and lawful to do so. Pull over before reviewing details or making decisions.
3. Eligibility and lawful use
You must be at least 18, able to enter a binding agreement, and legally permitted to use the service where you live. CarrySafe does not determine whether you may possess or carry a firearm. You may use the service only for lawful purposes and may not use it to plan, facilitate, or commit an unlawful act.
4. Accounts and the seven-day CarrySafe trial
Provide accurate information, keep credentials and devices secure, and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity on your account. A CarrySafe account is personal and may not be sold or transferred. Authentication can be shared with other Hoydia products, but CarrySafe data and product access remain scoped to CarrySafe.
New CarrySafe accounts currently receive one seven-day CarrySafePro product trial. The trial begins when the account is created, requires no App Store purchase, does not automatically renew, and does not create a charge. At the end of the trial, trial access ends unless the account has an active subscription, Duo seat, or previously granted entitlement that has not reached its end date. This account trial is separate from any introductory offer Apple may display for an auto-renewable subscription.
5. Auto-renewable subscriptions
When shown for sale, CarrySafePlus and CarrySafePro are available as individual or Duo subscriptions billed monthly or yearly. CarrySafePro route planning remains available as part of Pro. There is no microphone or audio collection in this release. The app does not request microphone access, record a voice turn, or transmit audio. Product scope describes app access only and never promises complete legal review.
The product name, localized price, billing period, introductory-offer eligibility, trial terms, and effective date shown by Apple's purchase sheet are authoritative. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. A subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel it through Apple at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple can charge the renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel in your App Store subscription settings. Cancellation ordinarily takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless Apple states otherwise.
If Apple displays an introductory offer and confirms that your Apple Account is eligible, the offer converts to the subscription and price shown in Apple's purchase sheet unless you cancel before renewal. Do not rely on a promotional message that is not also shown by StoreKit. Upgrades, downgrades, crossgrades, proration, renewal-date changes, grace periods, billing retry, and price-consent timing are controlled by Apple and the product's App Store subscription group.
6. Duo subscriptions
A Duo subscription covers one billed owner and one invited adult using separate private CarrySafe accounts. Duo is not Apple Family Sharing. The owner manages billing and can send one adult a single-use invitation that expires after seven days. Each adult keeps separate permits, location, Carry Mode, community activity, and legal profile. The invited adult receives only the plan tier and access period supplied by the owner's active Duo subscription.
Leaving a Duo or removing the invited adult can end the invited access immediately. Closing, replacing, or joining a Duo is subject to the account and cooldown rules shown in the app. A person with a separate subscription or another active entitlement may need to wait until that access ends before joining a Duo to avoid overlapping access or charges.
7. Previously granted fixed-term access
A previously granted fixed-term entitlement can remain visible as read-only account status until its recorded end date. It does not auto-renew, expand legal coverage, or create additional product access. Current iOS surfaces do not offer a separate purchase, transfer, activation, or management path for this access.
A store refund or revocation can end remaining access. Account deletion removes identifying account links as described in the Privacy Policy, subject to limited legal, security, accounting, fraud-prevention, and de-identified audit retention.
8. Refunds, restoration, and account deletion
Apple handles charges, taxes, refunds, and payment disputes for App Store purchases. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. A refund, revocation, expiration, failed renewal outside an Apple grace period, or other terminal StoreKit state can end access. Use Restore Purchases while signed into the CarrySafe account to which the original transaction is bound. A subscription cannot be moved silently between CarrySafe accounts.
Deleting a CarrySafe account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel through Apple before deletion if you do not want future renewal. Account deletion removes CarrySafe data as described in the Privacy Policy, subject to limited legal, security, accounting, fraud-prevention, and de-identified audit retention.
9. Your content and community conduct
You keep ownership of content you submit. You grant Hoydia a worldwide, nonexclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and process that content only as needed to operate, secure, moderate, and improve the CarrySafe service and to show it to the audience you selected. This license ends when the content is deleted, except for copies reasonably retained for security, legal, backup, or dispute purposes and public content retained without personal attribution.
You may not post unlawful, threatening, harassing, hateful, deceptive, infringing, sexually exploitative, or dangerous content; impersonate an official or business; expose another person's private information; advertise an unlawful transfer or sale; file deliberately false reports; or manipulate legal-review content. Use the in-app report and block tools when appropriate. We may review, restrict, remove, or preserve content and may suspend or terminate accounts to protect people, comply with law, and maintain service integrity. Community and news content never changes the legal map.
10. Businesses, events, and bookings
Verified non-FFL professional profiles, instructors, attorneys, events, and booking requests are provided by independent businesses or organizers. Official federal license records may support limited contextual FFL markers on the map, but the customer app has no browsable FFL directory or dealer list. A marker or verification badge is not an endorsement. CarrySafe does not guarantee licensing, availability, quality, pricing, safety, or completion. A booking request is not confirmed until the business confirms it. Partner, publisher, and FFL applications are accepted only through the separate website portal. You are responsible for checking credentials, terms, and transaction requirements. Any separate transaction with a business is between you and that business unless the app expressly states otherwise.
11. License and Apple terms
The CarrySafe app is licensed, not sold. Subject to these Terms, Hoydia grants you a limited, personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to use CarrySafe on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by Apple's Usage Rules. You may not copy, reverse engineer, scrape, resell, rent, distribute, bypass access controls, interfere with security, or use the service to build a competing legal-data product except where applicable law does not allow that restriction.
Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to the App Store license and is incorporated by reference. These Terms supplement that license and govern CarrySafe accounts, content, services, and purchases. These Terms are between you and Hoydia, not Apple. Hoydia, not Apple, is responsible for CarrySafe and its support, subject to the Standard EULA and applicable law. You must also comply with applicable third-party service and wireless-data terms.
12. Intellectual property and third-party material
CarrySafe's software, design, original copy, compilation, and reviewed summaries belong to Hoydia LLC or its licensors. Statutes and official government material may be public, but CarrySafe's selection, organization, annotations, and presentation remain protected. Map data is attributed to Mapbox and OpenStreetMap contributors. Other third-party content remains subject to its owner's rights and terms. No right is granted except the limited license above.
13. Availability and service changes
CarrySafe can change, suspend, limit, or discontinue features, geographic coverage, integrations, or content. Features can be unavailable because of maintenance, provider outages, legal restrictions, device compatibility, account status, or safety controls. We do not promise that every feature or product will remain available in every location or storefront. We will not reduce an active paid entitlement except as permitted by Apple, these Terms, or applicable law.
14. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CARRYSAFE AND ITS SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." HOYDIA DISCLAIMS EXPRESS AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, TIMELINESS, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP, ALERTS, MAPS, SOURCES, ROUTES, BUSINESSES, OR SERVICES WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR SUITABLE FOR A PARTICULAR LEGAL DECISION. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HOYDIA LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, REVIEWERS, CONTRACTORS, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR ANY ARREST, PROSECUTION, PENALTY, LOSS, OR INJURY ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON CARRYSAFE CONTENT, MAPS, ALERTS, ROUTES, OR THE ABSENCE OF AN ALERT. WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE EXCLUDED, HOYDIA'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO CARRYSAFE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR CARRYSAFE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
16. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify Hoydia from third-party claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of CarrySafe, your content, or a material violation of these Terms. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim results from Hoydia's own unlawful conduct.
17. Suspension, termination, and survival
You may stop using CarrySafe and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for a serious or repeated violation, fraud, abuse, security risk, legal requirement, or conduct that threatens people or the service. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to appeal unless immediate action is reasonably necessary. License restrictions, intellectual-property provisions, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, dispute terms, and obligations that by their nature should survive will continue after termination.
18. Governing law, changes, and contact
These Terms are governed by New Jersey law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that mandatory consumer protections and laws in your place of residence still apply. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue. These Terms and the incorporated Apple Standard EULA form the agreement for CarrySafe unless another written agreement expressly applies.
We may update these Terms when the product, law, or service changes. The current effective date appears at the top. Material changes will be communicated in the app or through another reasonable method before they take effect when required. Questions can be sent to info@hyda.studio or Hoydia LLC, 180 Gress Ct, Paterson, NJ 07501, United States.
